SMC Design are currently working closely with NCL on the Norwegian Epic vessel presently under construction at STX France. Managing director Andy Yuill reports, ”there have been many new, exciting and innovative developments throughout the vessel which SMC Design have been responsible for. One area of particular interest has been the Ice Bar, which demonstrates our ability to take an initial concept through to detailed design, incorporating all technical requirements while still maintaining the desired visual effect. The creation of the ice bar, complete with ice artwork, furniture and feature lighting, will result in a guest facility that will be truely unique within the cruise industry”.
SMC Design are also responsible for a variety of public areas, decorative and directional signage and artwork throughout Norwegian Epic. ”It is our continued belief that by taking the time and effort to combine all the various design elements, the end result is a ship that is more complete and aesthetically balanced”.
