Emirates Hotels & Resorts will open Australia’s first luxury conservation-based property, Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa in October. Located on the Great Dividing Range adjacent to the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, a scenic three-hour drive from Sydney, the resort will offer a glimpse into Australia’s wildlife, history and cultural heritage. It will provide the ultimate in seclusion, comfort and guest-focused services, all within conservation-based luxury.
As Emirates Hotels & Resorts’ first hospitality development outside Dubai, the US $94 million project is being built on the same principles as Emirates’ internationally-acclaimed Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa. Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa is fully integrated into its environment – incorporating and following stringent environmental standards.
Emirates airline passengers traveling from the U.S. can be among the first to experience Wolgan Valley Resort with special fares to Australia from New York, Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco. For travel through November 30, 2009, Emirates is offering Economy Class fares to Sydney beginning at $899*, including fuel surcharges.
Travelers can also take advantage of the resort’s introductory offer, with a complimentary third night to guests who stay two nights from October 1 through December 23, 2009. This introductory offer is applicable on all room types and is valid for new bookings only.
Surrounded by two National Parks and located at the foot of towering sandstone cliffs – Wolgan Valley will occupy just two percent of the 4,000 acres of land dedicated as a conservation reserve; feature a world-class spa facility; and 40 free-standing suites with private decks and an indoor/outdoor swimming pool. The property will feature the superior services that Emirates is renowned for worldwide. Its architecture will be reminiscent of traditional Australian homesteads.
The Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa culinary experience will include a variety of fine food options with a major focus on the quality of Australia’s finest produce – enhanced by the resort’s regional, seasonal and organic food philosophy. Calling on local and regional farms, private growers and the talented ‘new world’ vintners of Australia, the culinary experiences offered by Executive Chef Dwane Goodman are set to refresh and delight the most discerning palates. The resort will boast a wide range of dining settings; both in the resort and at various locations within the surrounding reserve.
Wolgan Valley will also feature Emirates Hotels & Resorts’ own Timeless Spa branded facility. With six double treatment rooms, the Wolgan Valley Timeless Spa will offer a distinct range of relaxation, rejuvenation and beauty therapies. Timeless Spa products, that have been developed in conjunction with leading spa product manufacturer Babor of Germany, stand-alone Babor products, as well as products from internationally acclaimed Australian skincare and spa brand Sodashi, will be used and available for purchase at the spa.
Activities at the resort will include guided wildlife walks, four-wheel drive safaris, mountain bike and horse-riding adventures, star gazing, heritage and aboriginal interpretative tours, guided photographic excursions and visits to the Wollemi Pine Grove.
