Ron Jackson, President and CEO of Girard-Perregaux North America, will join 3,500 cyclists in the Dempsey Challenge on October 4th in Lewiston-Auburn, Maine. The Dempsey Challenge, founded by avid cyclist and actor Patrick Dempsey, is a fundraising initiative for The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing and will feature various cycling distances (10 to 100 miles) and a 5K run/walk. All funds raised by participants will be donated to The Patrick Dempsey Center, which provides education, support and wellness services to cancer patients and survivors, as well as their families and caregivers.
Jackson, along with other industry retailers and friends, got involved with the Challenge via his close relationship with Dempsey. The JeanRichard Swiss Watch team, of which Jackson is a participant, has raised over $17,000 so far and hopes to raise $20,000 total, though Jackson says he “is optimistic that they will go above that.” As of now, the JeanRichard Swiss Watch team is the leading team in generating funds, and Jackson, who has raised over $7,000 himself, is the leading individual for generating funds.
