By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Ideally located on Passeig de Gràcia, at the very center of the city’s commercial and entertainment district, Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona opened its doors on November 26. The opening was marked with a ribbon cutting ceremony and celebratory gala event, attended by Barcelona’s society elite.

“We are delighted to be bringing Mandarin Oriental’s renowned hospitality into Spain for the first time, and are excited about opening such a luxurious hotel in Barcelona’s lively and sophisticated center,” said Luis Marco, Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona’s General Manager.

To celebrate the opening of the Group’s first hotel in Southern Europe, guests booking a two night stay at Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona can enjoy the opening package providing a third night’s complimentary accommodation in any category of guestroom or suite. This offer is available for bookings up to March 31, 2010 and is subject to availability.
