MARCH 22 – 24, 2013
Annually held during the last weekend of March, the Hong Kong leg of the international rugby world sevens circuit is always hotly anticipated by rugby fans and non-fans alike.
Rugby stars from across the world compete in the ‘jewel of the crown’ of the rugby sevens series, with sixteen teams playing the increasingly popular, fast-paced, shortened form of the game. Started in 1975, the game became so popular that Hong Kong Government Stadium, the host, had to be rebuilt in 1994. Since then the game has grown in popularity at home and abroad, and 2013 will mark the 38th tournament which is set to be as enthralling as the 37 that have gone before.
