Boca Raton, Florida – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
Cielo, the restaurant perched at the top of the Tower at Boca Raton Resort & Club with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Intra-coastal Waterway, has become an inviting showcase for coastal Mediterranean cuisine under the direction of Boston restaurateur Michela Larson, with delectable new dinner menus available as of today.
“We’re thrilled to bring in Michela to update Cielo for today’s tastes in a fun and engaging way that complements our diverse array of resort dining and entertainment options,” said Stephen J. Ast, President, Boca Raton Resort & Club. “I have often enjoyed the exciting and surprising fare that she presents with such flair in her Boston area restaurants, and look forward to our guests and members discovering the same delights.”
“Cielo is the high-in-the-sky crow’s nest from which all of Boca and beyond can be seen. And so it is the base from which we explore the exotic flavors of the worlds surrounding the Mediterranean Sea,” said Michela Larson, who directs the restaurant’s operations with Cielo Chef de Cuisine Nader Jaouhar, who grew up in Senegal, Africa. He studied pastry in Paris and after graduating from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, he worked for Pascal Oudin of Pascal’s in Coral Gables. With his French training and eastern Mediterranean background, he has the perfect credentials to create this flavorful cuisine.
“Like sirens, these Mediterranean countries call to us to taste their wares: Spain offers us Paella from Valencia and Calcots alla Plancha (Grilled Leeks) from Barcelona; Cilantro Chicken with Crispy Cumin Potato Skins lures us to Morocco; Roman-Style Fava Bean Soup with Pancetta & Marjoram says, ‘Vieni qui. Sono italiano,’ while Zucchini Fritters tempt from Turkey. Other ports of call include Lebanon, Greece, France-who can resist a Provencal Daube of Short Ribs? The food is adventurous and fun, and so is the tone at Cielo,” said Larson, who is known for successful concept-driven restaurants with the highest quality of service.
Cielo’s new coastal Mediterranean menu is offered for dinner Tuesday-Saturday evenings from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m. To complement the appetizer, entrée and dessert dishes, the restaurant also offers hand-selected aperitifs, wines and liqueurs from Spain, Italy, Portugal, France, Lebanon and Greece, as well as a martini bar, frequent wine tastings and early evening specials.
