Teams will compete for cash prizes that are awarded to the top scoring three teams as well as to the teams that catch the largest fish in three eligible billfish species. In addition to winning a portion of the purse, which is approaching $1 million, the winners receive an invitation to represent the tournament at the IGFA Offshore World Championship, May 8 – 13, 2011. A kickoff party and an awards banquet, to be held at the official host hotel – Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa – are also scheduled during this year’s tournament. Los Cabos’ commitment to environmental conservation is apparent through the tournament’s strictly enforced CPR rule – catch, photograph and release.
