Virgin America and VH1 Kick Off New Mexican Route With Celeb-Packed Inaugural Flight

California-based airline Virgin America has launched its newest Mexican routes with nonstop flights now traveling between Cancun International Airport and both Los Angeles International Airport and San Francisco International Airport.

To celebrate the maiden voyage of the new nonstop Mexican flights, Virgin America paired with VH1 to host the first “mile-high” episode of the network’s “Top 20 Video Countdown.” Host Jim Shearer sat down with Grammy-nominated band Goo Goo Dolls during a special “Countdown to Cancun” episode, filmed at 35,000 feet while flying from LAX to CUN.
