Clearwater, Florida – Reported by Elite Traveler, the Private Jet Lifestyle Magazine
The private aircraft operator Avantair continues to lead the way to a more environmentally responsible industry by extending its partnership with TerraPass, an originator and retailer of greenhouse gas reduction offsets.
In honor of Earth Day, Avantair will again offset flight hours of carbon emissions of all new fractional owners as well as Edge Card and Axis Lease with TerraPass. Avantair was the first fractional aircraft operator to offset carbon emissions, and since the partnership with TerraPass began in 2007, Avantair has purchased Flight TerraPass credits that are equivalent to removing more than 13.3 million pounds of carbon dioxide. This is akin to taking more than 1,100 cars off the road for one year (12,000 miles driven), or the emissions created by 15,842 barrels of oil.
Avantair’s new, exclusive Piaggio Avanti aircraft also produces the lowest amount of carbon emissions in the private aircraft industry, featuring innovative, fuel-efficient technology that reduces carbon dioxide output by approximately 35 percent compared with other fractional providers’ aircraft.
