New York, New York – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
Ashford Castle has re-opened the Lisloughrey Lodge, a 19th-century manor house on its grounds, as The Lodge at Ashford. Exuding a casual elegance that epitomizes the Irish country house experience, The Lodge is only a few minutes’ stroll from the renowned five-star Ashford Castle.
Dating back to the 1860s, The Lodge at Ashford was originally built as the home for Ashford Castle’s Estate Manager. Today, the original lodge contains the hotel’s public rooms and is linked through a courtyard to the property’s 24 deluxe guestrooms and 26 suites.
Each guest accommodation offers down duvets
and pillows, contemporary bespoke cabinetry, under-floor bathroom heating and the latest technology, including flat screen televisions.
The Lodge at Ashford has two dining options: Wilde’s at the Lodge, serving contemporary country cuisine on the restored first floor of the original house, and The Quay Bar, offering informal dining and an extensive collection of malt whiskeys. Both restaurants are headed by Chef Adrian Bane and feature fresh and local ingredients.
Guests of The Lodge at Ashford can participate in all activities and amenities offered by Ashford Castle, including the castle’s bars and restaurants, clay shooting, cruising Lough Corrib, falconry, fishing, golf, horseback riding and walking trails. The Lodge at Ashford also has a dedicated children’s program and a summer camp throughout July and August. The facilities of The Lodge at Ashford are also available to guests of Ashford Castle.
