Geneva, Switzerland – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
There was spectacular success for the young Franco-Swiss company CELSIUS X VI II, the creators of de luxe objects combining mobile phone technology with horological micro-mechanics, in Monaco at the weekend, during the celebrated Only Watch charity auction staged under the patronage of Prince Albert II.
As the first brand specializing in ‘watch hybrids’ ever to take part in Only Watch – an event usually reserved for the world’s leading watchmakers – CELSIUS X VI II offered for auction a unique mobile phone in Monaco colors. Bidding soared past the €40,000-60,000 estimate of auctioneers Antiquorum to €75,000 (CHF 90,000): an exceptional performance by the Celsius Pièce Unique Only Watch 2011, which thus becomes the most expensive mobile phone ever sold at auction.
The unique phone, complete with its exclusive accessories, was acquired by an Asian collector. The winning bid will go towards research into Duchenne’s muscular dystrophy.
