Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced that it will manage a luxurious hideaway resort and branded Residences at Mandarin Oriental on the Bodrum Peninsula in Turkey.
Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum, which is slated to open in 2014, will be located on a 60 hectare waterfront site on the northern side of the peninsula, at ‘Cennet Koyu’ or Paradise Bay, offering panoramic views over the Aegean Sea. Built on a series of levels nestled in the resort’s landscaped hillside, surrounded by ancient olive groves and pine trees, this luxurious destination resort offers the perfect retreat. The resort’s 82 exclusive guestrooms and 20 suites will provide the largest accommodation in the area, all with stunning sun-decks and terraces, and many with private gardens and infinity edged pools.
The development also includes 214 luxury private homes which will be branded and managed as Residences at Mandarin Oriental, providing a unique opportunity for ownership along the Turkish Riviera which is also known as the Turquoise Coast.
All accommodation will be designed in an elegant, 21st century contemporary style, taking full advantage of the resort’s outstanding vistas. Design elements will be influenced by the Group’s oriental heritage and the local area’s ancestry, with Mandarin Oriental’s exacting attention to detail. Guestrooms and suites will also incorporate the Group’s guest-centered technology and entertainment systems.
Offering the finest dining in the region, Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum will have a selection of six restaurants and bars including al fresco waterside dining, a stylish lobby lounge, poolside bar and a signature Mandarin Oriental Cake Shop. The resort will also offer a 135-seat ballroom and a further five function rooms.
An all-encompassing Spa at Mandarin Oriental will offer the most comprehensive range of wellness, beauty and massage treatments available in the region. Built on a hillside ridge overlooking a lush valley and the sea, the Spa will benefit from a secluded location with its own private beach. Spa goers will enjoy Mandarin Oriental’s award winning signature programs as well as specifically developed treatments inspired by Ottoman traditions and customs. The 2,700 square meter Spa will feature 10 spacious treatment rooms, including three couples’ suites, built as private cabanas with expansive terraces set in the cascading Mediterranean landscape. Further facilities will include significant heat and water therapies, a meditation room, indoor swimming pool and a signature Mandarin Salon and Barber. Extensive fitness facilities will also be on offer, including a dedicated Pilates room where guests can enjoy private or group sessions.
Leisure facilities abound on property along a two kilometer expansive stretch of shoreline with three private bays, a Beach Club with water activities and mooring for yachts, a comprehensive Sports Centre, dedicated Kids Club and luxury retail. An array of swimming pools set in the resort’s verdant hillside will also be a key feature. The 18-hole Vita Park championship golf course is a 30 minute drive from the hotel, as are a further two courses that are currently under development.
