House of Bovet 1882 debuts its newest timepiece, the Tourbillon Dimier Récital 0, to commemorate the 56th edition of the Gstaad Menuhin Festival.
Founded in 1957 by Lord Yehudi Menuhin, the Menuhin Festival Gstaad has become one of the most important classical music events in Switzerland. With some 50 concerts in seven weeks, the festival attracts thousands of classical music lovers every year.
Inspired by this momentous occasion and the inextricable coalescence of classical music and fine watchmaking, Bovet has named an entire collection Récital. This inspiration was derived from the omnipresent nature of music within the watchmaking process, as the regular pulse of the regulating organ within a timepiece, akin to a metronome, creates the precision that characterizes Swiss watchmaking.
In addition to their exemplary rhythmical regularity, numerous Bovet timepieces also provide musical accompaniments in the form of the minute-repeater. In such timepieces, crafted by virtuoso artisans of Bovet 1822, the movements strike the hours, quarters and minutes on request, on gongs tuned by watchmakers to the exact frequency after being shaped to obtain a crystal-clear sonority.
True to Bovet’s renowned artistry, the Tourbillion Dimier Récital 0 is an extravagant 41mm, 18K white gold masterpiece held by a full skin alligator band. The bezel is set with 68 baguette-cut diamonds, a glittering touch that has come to define Bovet’s one-of-a-kind elegance.
