Paris, France – Reported by Erin Riley for Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
Sici Jewels, an atelier of Sici’s art mosaic factory, sets to open its first boutique store in October at the triangle d’or of the historic capital of extravagance. The premiere of Sici Jewels in Paris establishes the brand as a world leader in micro mosaic jewelry and watches and represents a dazzling addition to a city that expects nothing less.
An addition to the Ravenna-based company’s decorative mosaics, Sici Jewels has spent the last three years in extensive preparation to position itself as the world leader in micro mosaic jewelry. The brand made its sparkling debut at Baselworld and Couture in Las Vegas earlier this year, and has dramatically expanded over the last few months to establish the international prominence necessary to launch its flagship location in the French capital.
The choice of Paris as the brand’s flagship location holds great significance, as it was in the early 19th century that Caroline and Josephine Bonaparte would proudly adorn themselves with micro mosaic jewels crafted by Roman masters Castellani and Raffaelli. Sici Jewel’s draws its elaborate designs from Ravenna, the mosaic capital of the world, particularly in its setting-style, as the micro mosaic pieces are held by signature mountings of gold and diamond. Sici Jewels works with nine colored glass pastes exquisitely cast with threads of pure gold, creating an intricate variety of hues for nano tesserae. These complex hues are used as codes of a universal language in order to distinguish between the endless array of micro mosaics.
A brand marked by its universal appeal, Sicis Jewels has attracted and inspired the likes of internationally acclaimed designers from all over the world. Most notable of these renowned collaborations is with designer Roger Thomas, who joined the brand for the Wynn and Bellagio Hotels in Las Vegas, and who is now working on the flagship store’s designs. These designs will explore an authentic interpretation of Ancient Rome, revitalized by Thomas’ refined sense of style.
