New Orleans, Louisiana – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
The recent $22 million renovation at New Orleans’s Windsor Court Hotel has revitalized the stately property’s once-faded façade. A wealth of visual themes—English library, French manor, Southern plantation—reflects the charming marriage of cultures unique to the Crescent City, while a lustrous palette of gold, green and purple, taking cues from traditional Mardi Gras invitations, bedecks the 2,780-square-foot, two-bedroom Presidential Suite overlooking the Mississippi River (from $4,500 a night).
The remaining 315 guest rooms and suites, updated in robin’s egg blue, echo oversized Tiffany boxes. The bijoux within include plush furnishings in toile depicting St. Louis Cathedral, Italian marble baths with Molton Brown amenities and technological touches like iHome docking stations and flat-screen HD TVs.
The refurbishment extended to all public areas and debuted the 4,500-square-foot Spa at Windsor Court. This sanctuary’s majestic look—the reception boasts mother-of-pearl tiles and a Swarovski crystal-studded ceiling—is complemented by potent therapies like the detoxifying Regal Retreat ($175) that serve as the ideal antidote to a day—and night—of Big Easy delights.
