Maui, Hawaii – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea today announced an exceptional package for its December 7, 2012 “Red Violin Opus One Event,” a one-of-a-kind private classical music concert performed by Elizabeth Pitcairn, American violin virtuoso and owner of the legendary 1720 Red Mendelssohn Stradivarius. In addition to the concert, the offer includes an under-the-stars dinner featuring specially selected Opus One vintages paired to a stellar menu tracing the violin’s illustrious history across centuries in Italy, Montreal, Shanghai and England. The event price is $795 per person and includes an Ocean View Room, the private concert and the paired wine dinner created by the resort’s Master Executive Chef Roger Stettler. Pre and post event room rates are specially priced at $295 per night.
“This is the latest in our ongoing Unforgettable Events series. What could be more compelling than listening to the virtuoso tones of Elizabeth Pitcairn and her Red Violin while sipping the finest vintages from Opus One Winery and savoring an exquisite menu,” says Thomas Steinhauer, regional vice president and general manager, Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea. “We feel privileged to present this extraordinary evening of classical music, wine and cuisine to our guests. This package offers value upon value. It is truly going to be an unforgettable event.”
Chef Stettler and his talented Four Seasons Resort Maui team are promising a delectable five-course repast that will include Lobster Ravioli, Wild Rabbit Terrine, Shanghai Steamed Soup Dumplings, Braised Oxtail, Fried Quail Egg, Black Winter Truffle, and a dessert and cheese buffet created by Executive Pastry Chef Rhonda Ashton with samplings from around the world. The menu will be paired with an inspired selection of Opus One vintages from 1995, 2000, 2004, 2007 and 2009. Opus One, renowned as one of the world’s finest wines, is French in style but Californian in execution. Each bottle is produced with uncompromising attention to detail, from the manner in which the vineyard is planted and maintained to the quality of the cork that seals each bottle.
Pitcairn has earned a stunning reputation as one of America’s most beloved soloists. She made her New York debut at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in 2000 with the New York String Orchestra and appeared as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Academy of Music. She has recently been named the Artistic Director of the Luzerne Chamber Music Festival and is a member of the distinguished faculty at the Colburn School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, where she currently resides.
The “Red Violin Opus One Wine Event” is a premier program that will take place as part of the Wailea Wine and Food Festival in Maui, December 6-9, 2012.
