South Norwalk, Connecticut – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
Virgin Atlantic has redesigned and re-engineered its Upper Class Cabin, creating a brand new onboard experience, with a host of great new features.
The upper class cabin will be a fabulous new-look cabin with a stylish, uplifting interior featuring flashes of Virgin’s famous red, and Swarovski crystal accents for that touch of Virgin Atlantic sparkle. An innovative new mood lighting system, designed alongside architectural lighting experts DHA, changes color mid-flight to help passengers relax and unwind, fall asleep and adjust time zones
The revolutionary new Upper Class Suite features a new comfort system that allows for a more luxurious and comfortable sleep. With a huge 87-inch bed surface, the seat is longer than any other airline’s business class bed. Using the same comfort system, the new espresso colored leather seat is more spacious and comfortable than ever. It has an extra one-and-a-half inch in seat width, and now reclines up to 50 percent more
The futuristic new on-board bar has a changed orientation; it’s separate from the cabin and has great new spaces to sit and socialize with fellow passengers. The bar features Virgin Atlantic’s new icon coupe glass – perfect for sipping champagne at 35,000 feet
Each seat has a 12.1 inch touchscreen monitor with a touchscreen handset, and it’s loaded with Virgin’s new entertainment system called JAM. It’s been consistently rated excellent by over 70% of Virgin Atlantic passengers. With the new technology hub, you can connect your smart phone, USB stick or tablet to JAM, watch, read or listen to your own content, plus charge your device
The design team behind this project is the Virgin Atlantic in-house design team in partnership with Pengelly Design (for the seat element) and VW+BS (for the bar and interior elements)
