Rovinj, Croatia – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
Hotel Lone in Rovinj, Croatia, has been shortlisted for the Newbuild Hotel Award at the European Hotel Design Awards 2012. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in London tonight. The nomination follows Hotel Lone winning Best Convention Hotel in Europe at the International Hotel Awards earlier this month.
Opened in July 2011, Hotel Lone defines itself as a leisure and conference design hotel. With an exterior design inspired by the traditional Croatian resorts of the 70s, the hotel is the result of a project led by young Croatian architects, artists and designers.
It is also the first five-star design hotel in the region of Istria and Croatia’s first member of the hotel collection Design Hotels™. In keeping with the hotel’s efforts to showcase Croatian creativity and to maintain its status as a “design hotel”, Hotel Lone has its own in-house Art Director, Andrea Cerin.
With a peaceful location on the Mediterranean, Hotel Lone is situated within walking distance from the sea, the Zlatni rt Forest Park and the old quarter of Rovinj. The hotel has 248 rooms, a variety of restaurants, one of the largest spas in the area and ten multi-purpose conference rooms.
Now in its 15th year, the European Hotel Design Awards is the only international hotel event to focus entirely on hotel design, development and architectural excellence.
