Cannes, France—Reported by Doug Gollan for Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
Guests to the Peninsula Hong Kong will now receive multi-language tablets that will enable them to order room service, check flight departures, control curtains and room temperature and take care of virtually any other need, including ordering transfers and checking local visitor information. The new technology is part of a $78 million renovation.
Speaking at the International Luxury Travel Mart in Cannes, France, Vice President of Marketing Paul Cheng said that the tablets will also be rolled out in Paris when that property opens at the end of 2013. Current languages include English, French, Japanese and two types of Chinese, with Spanish and Arabic on the way. “There is a lot of content to translate,” Cheng told Elite Traveler.
Included in the content is bespoke tourist information via a partnership with Luxe City Guides that includes weekly updates.
