The Mehmet Ali Aga Mansion
The Mehmet Ali Aga Mansion – an intimate Mediterranean retreat (where relaxed elegance engages the cosmopolitan traveller) Located near the ancient city of Knidos on Turkey’s rugged Datça Peninsula and just a short hop from the Greek island of Symi, the Mansion is nestled in the midst of pine-covered hills in the village of Reşadiye.
The guests are as eclectic and iconoclastic as the Mansion itself, many of them arriving by unconventional means – seaplanes, yachts, sailboats and even bicycles. Stepping through the front gate into the opulent garden, guests are taken to an era of legendary Ottoman hospitality, where personal service, attention to detail and extraordinary cuisine are elevated to an art form. Elaki Restaurant has a loyal following among foodies yachting in the region, as well as international visitors who hop over from the Greek islands especially. A recurring Fodor’s Choice hotel and recommended in Condé Nast Traveller’s 20 Top Trips for 2009, the Mansion has been lauded for its pervasive charm by travel writers globally. Welcoming guests seeking privacy, relaxed elegance and pampering, the Mansion continues to charm the globe’s most discerning travellers.
