Regent Palms in Turks & Caicos delivers an idyllic island vacation experience, complete with refreshed amenities and tangible value adds that have the resort raking in awards left and right.
Its accolades for 2012 include “World’s Best Resort Spa” at the World Travel Awards, “Top Spa in the Caribbean” from Condé Nast Traveler readers, induction into Virtuoso and “Best Restaurant in Turks & Caicos” at the island’s local Star Awards. Ever-worthy of these honors, Regent Palms really remained dedicated to delivering luxury despite the difficulty of the market in recent years. Now, with occupancy rates and spend approaching pre-crisis highs, the resort’s special programs and noteworthy amenities continue to attract the ultra-discerning private jet set.
As you might expect given its recent awards, highlights at Regent Palms include the 25,000-square-foot spa—the largest in the Caribbean—and its dining, with a new chef at the helm.
In March of last year, Regent Palms unveiled a completely refreshed spa product. Here the spa is not a small part of the resort, but its own freestanding domain, complete with 17 treatment cabanas and an East-meets-West vibe borne of the Regent brand’s Asian roots and the Regent Palms’ stunning Caribbean locale.

On the foodie front, the resort’s Parallel23 Caribbean-fusion restaurant is a real nightspot, for visitors and locals alike. An exhibition kitchen with woodburning oven invites guests to witness the magic, making it hard to choose between the chic indoor tables and al fresco options just outside the towering French doors. The property’s brand new chef, Ingo Moller, previously executive chef at Soneva Gili in the Maldives, is available for in-suite private culinary journeys. He is also in the midst of developing a special spa menu, complete with balanced vegan and gluten-free meals, for health nuts with demanding palates.
But for an evening treat that mixes the best of location, spa and indulgent eats, consider “moonbathing” on the beach at night, complete with a mini-spa treatment, drinks and dessert.
In other news, Regent Palms recently introduced a slew of new value-add programs, including complimentary butler service with penthouse bookings, a complimentary kids’ club and complimentary long-distance calls to the US and Canada. The butler service—especially useful to families and groups—has proven particularly popular, and the hotel is already planning to expand its butler team.

Always offering new services and programs, the resort has a FlyBarre wellness weekend and pop-up beach bar on the horizon, the latter following in the spirit of the pop-up shops it hosted in 2011. FlyBarre (a total body-sculpting system that blends the best of light weight training, dance and core-strengthening exercises) instructors will join guests in Turks & Caicos from May 16 to 19 for the ultimate beachside boot camp, starting from $1,800 and inclusive of spa and cocktail-reception fun. As for the beach bar, details are still under wraps, but we do have a name, Swizzle, which sounds like just the place to keep you stocked in refreshing, fruity beverages all day long.
