Le Bristol Paris unveils new jardin

By Chris Boyle

By Kelly Carter

Fa-raon Le Bristol ParisAnyone who has been to Le Bristol Paris knows how stunning the 13,000-square-foot garden is, especially in the spring when beautiful azaleas and rhododendron bloom. With the transformation to  le jardin “à la française,” it’s an even prettier place for dogs and cats to romp. Perhaps no one is happier about this than Fa-raon, Le Bristol’s resident cat.

Le Bristol Paris gardenThe Birman walks on the spotless, white cobblestone garden walkway and crosses paths with Pegasus, the little wooden horse, which is a delight for young guests at Le Bristol Paris.

Surrounded by the three Michelin star Epicure restaurant, the meeting rooms and the newly renovated colonnade, the garden is the centerpiece of Le Bristol Paris and a true ode to the art de vivre à la française.

Fa-raon’s favorite place to relax is the first floor rose garden. From here, he admires surrounding flowers and observes the French and international clientele of Epicure who savor the authentic and refined cuisine of three-star Chef Eric Frechon and indulge in desserts created by Pastry Chef Laurent Jeannin.

Fa-raon also listens to the sounds of birds chirping and the fountain “Aux Amours”, an entirely renovated and emblematic feature of the garden.

When you check into Le Bristol Paris with your coddle canine, your furry friend will receive a lovely box of organic biscuits with different flavors that look like French macaroons. After enjoying a gourmet treat, your posh pet can head to the new garden, unveiled just  time for summer. The complete transformation of the garden is part of the major renovation program that began in 2009, thanks to the determination of Le Bristol Paris’ CEO Didier Le Calvez and the deep pockets of the Oetker Group.

The hotel bar has always been high in Paris but even the best have realized they need to up their game with new luxury hotels, such as the Mandarin Oriental, opening and the iconic ones undergoing face lifts and adding new presidential-level suites. The  Ritz Paris closed last July for an unprecedented restoration and reopens in 2014 . Hôtel de Crillon also shut its doors on March 31 for a two-year overhaul and will reopen in 2015 with a new spa, swimming pool and major changes to the suites, rooms, ground floor and restaurants that promise to keep its tradition and spirit alive.
