Grenada’s five-star Spice Island Beach Resort is embarking on a multi-million dollar renovation project to insure the boutique resort remains at the forefront of the luxury tourism market.
The resort will close on September 2-21, 2013 to complete construction projects, including an upgraded porte-cochère featuring contemporary pavers as well as redesigned public spaces throughout the entire property.
Spice Island Beach Resort’s lobby/reception and courtyard area will benefit from a complete redesign.

The courtyard, reception lobby, restaurants and residence lounge will enjoy a brand new façade featuring wall definitions and trimmings, chic lighting and contemporary aesthetics accented by a fresh combination of colors. The Sea & Surf Terrace – a popular setting for causal lunches and evening entertainment – will be expanded with two extended decks, allowing for more seating and an enhanced dance floor.
Furniture throughout all restaurants and public areas will be replaced, including pool deck and bar furniture. A dedicated concierge area will be added to the lobby area for guests’ convenience, while the business centre will be relocated to a dedicated location.
Oliver’s Restaurant and the Sea & Surf Terracewill be enhanced with a brand new façade featuring wall definitions and trimmings, chic lighting and contemporary aesthetics accented by a fresh combination of colors.
The full-service on property Janissa’s Spa will close one week earlier on August 25 in order to facilitate an extensive upgrade and expansion. The redesigned spa will feature a separate hair salon, a brand new manicure and pedicure facility, a new indoor couples massage room and sauna area complete with double outdoor showers. The spa’s outer deck will be transformed into a relaxation area to provide a tranquil ambiance to aid in guests’ relaxation.
Enhancing the contemporary look and feel of the resort’s guestrooms, select indoor and outdoor furniture and fixtures will be replaced. The addition of patio fans will help sunbathers keep cool on warm days, while upgraded Dedon chaise lounges in the garden area of Sea Grape suites will ensure visitors unwind in comfort and style. A redesigned lighting theme and immaculate, new soft furnishings will give all guestrooms a brand new appearance designed to impress discerning travelers.

All construction projects will be completed by September 21, while Spice Island Beach Resort will continue to upgrade soft furnishings with an ultimate completion date of October 31, 2013.
