A holistic, seven-day luxury yoga retreat is being offered at two breathtaking locations in South Africa for travelers looking to reconnect with themselves and nature.
The Red Carnation Hotel Collection is partnering up with the Geneva-based wellness center Insens, renowned for its focus on balance and harmony, to offer the retreat at two of their award-winning properties, The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa in Cape Town and Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve and Wellness Retreat in the Cederberg Mountains, on 8-15 November 2013.
This very special retreat will be hosted by renowned Insens yoga instructor Ata Baechler . Ata has been transmitting the teachings of yoga following the lineage of his master Sri Dharma Mittra.
Ata has been living the life of a yogi for many years, adapting its principal to a modern lifestyle. He undertook intensive training with Yoga Master Sri Dharma Mittra at the Kailashananda Temple in New York and subsequently perfected his practice in California, and Kerala, India, where he spent extended periods of time living a monastic life in ashrams.
Ata has also been studying and teaching the ancient art of Thai massage for over 12 years. He was taught by the great Masters in Asia and developed his own blend of treatments, mixing traditional Thai massage techniques with western osteopathic principals.
The trip begins with a two-night stay at The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa. Nestled between the mountains and ocean, this is Cape Town’s most beautifully located five-star hotel. Enjoy yoga sessions, healthy picnic breakfasts on one of the mountain trails, and delicious lunches and dinners served either in the Azure Restaurant or The Café Grill. Indulge in an Elemis or B| Africa signature treatment at the award-winning Spa, and unwind in the Rasul chamber, hydro, plunge and floatation pools.
On Sunday, November 10, the exclusive group will be transferred to Relais & Châteaux member Bushmans Kloof, a place of ancient and untamed beauty. This extraordinary property, located at the foothills of the Cederberg Mountains, is the ideal wilderness getaway to escape, restore and relax. You will be welcomed by a scrumptious High Tea, followed by a sunset yoga session at a special mystical place in the reserve.
A varied program is scheduled for the remaining days at Bushmans Kloof, with morning and afternoon yoga sessions in various locations around the reserve offering stunning views of the surrounding plains. Bushmans Kloof’s cuisine is fresh and healthy, with Executive Chef Floris Smith using only the finest ingredients, many of them straight from the lodge’s organic gardens.
Special vegetarian and vegan options will also be available and served in a variety of extraordinary dining venues. Spa treatments are available at the outdoor gazebo or in the stunning Spa . There will be free time to discover the heritage center and the reserve with other activities, which include mountain biking, canoeing, fly fishing, hiking trails and botanical walks.
This trip offers a unique opportunity to practice yoga with a master teacher in two of the most unique and beautiful places in the world.
