Luxury hotel group Rosewood has announced it will open a site in Bangkok in 2017.
Designed by New York-based architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF), Rosewood Bangkok will be centrally located within Bangkok’s vibrant business district.
It will be part of the city’s luxury enclave encompassing offices, retail, embassies and residential towers.
“As one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, Bangkok is a key strategic location for Rosewood to further strengthen its foothold in Asia,” said Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group.
The hotel will consist of two connecting high-rise structures, creating a dynamic form inspired a Thai hand gesture of greeting. A spa, swimming pool, fitness center and two restaurants and bars also feature.
Rosewood Bangkok will be KPF’s first project in Thailand. The firm has designed some of the most iconic modern landmarks in the region and the world, including the International Commerce Centre in Hong Kong, Roppongi Hills in Tokyo, the Shanghai World Financial Centre, Lotte World Tower in Seoul, the Heron Tower in London and the renovation of the MoMA in New York.
