After a complete cosmetic refit, leading South American tour operator Quasar Expeditions’ luxury yacht M/V Evolution is once again cruising the Galapagos Islands.
The first company to introduce smaller yachts to navigate Darwin’s favorite islands, Quasar has been in operation for over 25 years, and the M/V Evolution’s 16 revamped staterooms are now outfitted with modern amenities, crisp white linens, carved wood headboards and bathrooms with marble countertops. The expedition vessel’s public areas—including indoor and outdoor dining spots, a library, observation deck, sundeck with Jacuzzi and a sky-deck lounge and bar—also received a makeover.
Offering an intimate cruising experience for just 32 guests, the vessel boasts dedicated naturalist guides who lead two, sometimes three, expeditions a day, such as hiking Floreana Island or snorkeling Devil’s Crown to glimpse the abundant wildlife unique to the Galapagos.
To link up with the ship in either Baltra or San Cristobal Island, depending on which seven-night/eight-day itinerary you choose, fly LAN Airlines into Quito or Guayaquil on mainland Ecuador and continue on from there. Cruise rates start at $5,080 per person.
