La Quinta Resort & Club Announces Renovation

The  resort-wide renovation encompasses upgrades of all guest casitas by fall 2014,  followed by a redesign of the villas, main lobby and public spaces, and a  re-imagined pool experience. The ambitious project also infuses the resort’s  lush 45 acres with a bevy of additional bougainvilleas, roses and citrus trees,  which guests have long enjoyed while strolling the grounds.

The  original desert hideaway, La Quinta Resort & Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, has been a haven to  Hollywood stars since it first opened in 1926. Now a multi-million dollar  restoration revives the luster of this iconic resort with a fresh, modern look  in line with the property’s storied history and serene desert surroundings.

Drawing  inspiration from the resort’s colorful desert environs, Los Angeles-based firm  Smith & Firestone has created a residential-style design for the resort’s  guestrooms and luxury suites. Set in a fresh earthen palette of ivory,  terracotta and chocolate, guestrooms feature custom tile work and wrought iron  elements, new furniture and carpet and two-toned blocked drapery panels.  Citrus-hued pillows and throws adorn luxurious Wingback style headboards and  contemporary Victorian chairs, while upgraded lighting and blue-sky accessories  enhance each bathroom.

New  amenities include 42- to 47-inch flat-screen high-definition televisions, mini  refrigerators, Keurig® coffee makers, charging stations with dual USB ports,  upgraded fireplaces and photography inspired by the storied history of the  resort and its surroundings.

Starlight  Casita patios, popular for their stunning mountain views, will debut new fire  features and patio furniture. The custom-designed resort suites will feature new  landscaping, updated patio furniture and renovated decks hugging the coveted  private pools and spas.

The  resort’s legendary 41 pools-including the main pool, an adult pool and a  tapestry of intimate pools & hot spas clustered around the casitas-will  receive fresh new decking, contemporary shade structures and water temperature  regulators for a brisk summer splash.

The  restored La Quinta Resort debuts this fall, with a fully renovated luxury  experience for the discerning traveler.
