The respected Good Food Guide 2015 published by Waitrose has announced its Top 50 UK restaurants today, featuring three restaurants with top marks.
L’Enclume in Cumbria, The Fat Duck in Berkshire and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea, London, all received the prestigious honor by scoring 10/10.
As well as this, Clare Smyth, chef proprietor of Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, has become the first female chef to be award a perfect 10 by the guide in 15 years.
In 1999, the perfect 10 honor was shared by Marco Pierre White’s Oak Room, Nico Ladenis at Chez Nico and Gunn Eriksen at the Altnaharrie Inn at Loch Broom, Ullapool, Scotland.
L’Enclume has once again retained its first place since 2014 with The Fat Duck achieving top marks for seven years in a row. Restaurant Gordon Ramsay scored third place, up two places from last year.
The Good Food Guide, first published in 1951, is the UK’s bestselling restaurant guide and is compiled by experts and public recommendations, aiming to bring together the best places to eat from throughout the country. Its influential recommendations also include pubs and cafes. It is available to purchase in Waitrose and bookstores from 8th September.
