Inspired by Haute Couture, the theme suites at The Peninsula Paris hotel – some of the French capital’s most spacious and the world’s most highly customised – are veritable showcases of French heritage and savoir-faire.
The three theme suites at The Peninsula Paris – the Peninsula Suite, the Historic Suite and the Katara Suite – have been meticulously designed and restored by France’s most respected craftspeople. Each suite is the sum of centuries-old artisan techniques as well as the collaborative efforts of Henry Leung of Chhada Siembieda Leung and The Peninsula Hotels Group’s in-house design team.
These three theme suites, ranging from 185 to 318 sq m (1,991 to 9,881 sq ft), embody all that is Peninsula service and tradition. Among the most spacious in Paris and the best equipped in the world in terms of technology, they offer a unique experience of refinement and service to a French and international clientele.
The Historic Suite and the Peninsula Suite, both situated on the hotel’s first floor, offer the spectacular volumes and high ceilings typical of Haussmann buildings, where the first floor was known as the “noble” floor. Enhanced with security features, these are an ideal choice for high-level delegations and visits.
Situated on the hotel’s sixth floor, the Katara Suite offers a 262 sq m (2,820 sq ft) rooftop terrace-garden with a breathtaking 360° view of the city and its most iconic monuments, as well as an 83 sq m (893 sq ft) balcony overlooking Avenue Kléber.

With its original mouldings, woodwork and gold leaf, this 217 sq m (2,336 sq ft) suite distinguishes itself by its decidedly Parisian elegance. The gilded painting, reproduced from archives, conveys the initial spirit of this suite, thanks to the collaboration of expert painters and gilders from the Parisian Mériguet-Carrère workshop. The former décor of the wall was recreated with the utmost precision thanks to the “Atelier de France EDM” workshops which made identical moulds from each of the former elements.
The custom-made furnishings and precious fabrics in soft tones from the most venerable French firms, enhanced by the play of materials and patterns, endow this suite with an elegant and refined resonance in the purest Parisian style. The works of carefully selected contemporary French and international artists add a subtly modern touch to the suite, including Nathalie Decoster’s bronze and aluminium sculptures and Decan’s oil paintings on canvas, waiting to be discovered from one room to the next.
This prestige apartment, elegant and bathed in light, with a 3.5 m high ceiling in the living room, offers a stunning view of Avenue Kléber and the Arc de Triomphe. The private entrance opens onto a dining room where a stained glass ceiling gives a winter garden feel, leading into the refined living room resplendent with its marble fireplace, a period piece restored in the EDM workshops. On either side, there are two spacious bedrooms, each with an en-suite dressing room and marble bathroom decorated with period tile panels initially located on the building’s ground floor and discovered during renovations.

The Peninsula Suite
Also situated on the first floor, this is the hotel’s largest suite. A truly luxurious residence of 318 sq m (3,423 sq ft), it offers an immense reception room complete with grand piano, a vast dining room seating up to 10, an elegant office and a spacious bedroom complete with two large dressing rooms and two marble bathrooms, affording intimacy to each guest.
True to the hotel’s architecture, this suite was designed with classic Haussmann-style features: high ceilings and large windows creating spacious rooms bathed in natural light. The soft creamy beige and golden tones bring sensuality and refinement to a suite enhanced by luxurious, perfectly designed decoration at the heart of a resolutely contemporary universe. Here again, the design firms exercised their creativity using only the very best: silks and brocades from the Prelle workshops, trimmings from Declercq Passementiers, floor coverings crafted by Tai Ping Carpets and Baccarat chandeliers.
This suite, communicating with two other rooms, is a veritable haven of peace at the heart of the City of Light.
The Katara Suite
Situated on the top floor, beneath the hotel eaves, this suite offers a private terrace accessed by its own independent stairway to more than 200 sq m (2,153 sq ft) of rooftop terrace-garden with a stunning 360° view of the French capital’s most iconic monuments.
This apartment offers its guests a breathtaking view of Paris and features generous volumes, comfortable spaces and a harmonious colour scheme. The 185 sq m (1,991 sq ft) of indoor space opens onto an 83 sq m (893 sq ft) full-length balcony overlooking Avenue Kléber. Its lavish facilities include a large living room leading into a dining area, an elegant work area and spacious bedroom, all bathed in natural light, as well as two dressing rooms.
Here, French knowhow blends seamlessly with tradition and modern technology. Decorated with contemporary artworks, Art Deco furniture and antiques, no detail was overlooked. Communicating with another bedroom, this exceptional suite tempts guests to extend their stay and discover all the French capital has to offer.
The suites are all designed to allow guests to work or receive visitors without disturbing the intimacy of the bedrooms. In addition to their living rooms and night-time areas, each theme suite includes a fully-equipped kitchen for entertaining guests.
Finally, like all of the hotel’s rooms, The Peninsula Paris offers cutting-edge technology developed by The Peninsula Hotels’ research and development office, setting new standards for customisation. Each guest can control the entire suite simply by pressing on a tablet pre-set in 11 languages.
