Luxury British sports car manufacturer Aston Martin has just revealed an exclusive special edition iteration of the Super Tourer DB12, the Goldfinger Edition. It doesn’t get more iconic than Sean Connery as James Bond driving an Aston Martin DB5 around the Swiss Alps in Goldfinger. Released in 1964, this classic piece of cinema was the first time James Bond got behind the wheel of an Aston Martin, making it 60 years since one of the classic cinematic partnerships began.
To mark the anniversary, the British marque’s bespoke personalization service, Q by Aston Martin, has crafted a special edition version of the DB12 of which only 60 will be available.
The DB12 Goldfinger Edition is presented in the classic Silver Birch paint, which helped make the DB5 such an icon. However, the car also features numerous other subtle details that link it to Goldfinger.
“The relationship between Aston Martin and the James Bond franchise is something that is always treasured”, said Marco Mattiacci, global chief brand and commercial officer. “It is an incredible occasion to be able to recognize six decades of this partnership with an extraordinary special edition, and pay homage to the very first – and perhaps most famous Aston Martin Bond car. Incorporating these subtle but impactful touches, developed by our own ‘Q’ department has created a very unique offering; one that will be adored by Bond fans across the world.”
The DB12 Goldfinger Edition’s 21-inch multi-spoke wheels are adorned with a unique silver color and diamond treatment finish, while break calipers are highlighted in black. There’s also a ‘Q’ fender badge in chrome, that instantly highlights the DB12 Goldfinger Edition as a special iteration.
The customization continues to the interior with leather Sports Plus seats finished in the classic DB5 fluted style with a Prince of Wales check perforation pattern, a subtle link to Bond’s iconic suit he wears throughout the film. This pattern can also be found on both door inserts, the headliner and the treadplate. There are also 18k gold-plated accents such as the drive mode rotary dial and roller controls, in addition to the notched gear selector.

Bond super fans will also spot the ‘eight of hearts’ embroidered in the driver’s sun visor, which references the playing card seen during Goldfinger’s famous Miami pool scene.
Each owner of the 60 DB12 Goldfinger Editions will also receive a custom car cover, luxury key presentation box, a Silver Birch Speedform model and a section of the classic Furka Pass scene from the film in 35mm. All this is presented inside a Globe-Trotter attaché case.
