Rimac Automobili Reveals Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition

A victory lap for the Croatian manufacturer, this edition brings some firsts to the Nevera and costs $2.54m.

Rimac Automobili unveiled the new Rimac Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition, a release that celebrates 15 years of excellence from the Croatian manufacturer.

The story of Rimac is one of rags to riches in rapid succession. Just 15 years ago, Mate Rimac started Rimac Automobili — a blink of an eye when it comes to car companies — today, Rimac Automobili sits atop the hypercar throne.

“Honestly, when I started to tinker with my first car in a garage, I couldn’t have even dreamt of being where we are 15 years later,” said CEO of the Rimac Group Mate Rimac. “There were so many times in the early years that we really thought the company wouldn’t make it, so reaching the 15-year milestone felt like it was worthy of a celebration.”

This new edition of the Nevera is an exceptionally limited release with only nine bespoke examples to be built. Priced at €2.35m ($2.54m) the Rimac Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition is certainly priced like a hypercar. The innards remain unchanged from the original, producing an eye-watering 1,914 hp and accelerating from 0-60 mp/h in just 1.74s (a world record), so it’s certainly not the looks doing all the talking.

The looks however are where the 15th Anniversary Edition differs from previous iterations. Decked out in an all-new shade of copper, the release marks the first time matte paintwork has been featured on the Nevera. Copper was selected for several reasons: In addition to its connections with celebration, copper also has links to electricity and energy. It was the famed scientist, born in what is now Croatia, Nikola Tesla, who made great leaps in the field of electricity and initially inspired Mate Rimac to look into electrical energy as a source of power.

Starkly contrasting the matte paintwork, a new glossy carbon fiber split gives this new Rimac a certain dynamism in the looks department.

While a level of bespoke customization is available to the owners of the nine Nevera 15th Anniversary Editions, there also remain some consistent details. Each model will feature the exclusive dual-color alloy wheel design, 15th Anniversary badging and a circuit board pattern that runs the length of the car.

The interior of the Rimac Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition is equally resplendent. Copper accents such as the anodized switchgear and copper-plated surfacing continue the theme presented by the vehicle’s exterior. When it comes to upholstery, owners can select from either bold black or pristine white, both of which also include contrasting copper leather, with the two seats both emblazoned with the number 15 embossed into the headrest.

“The 15th Anniversary Edition Nevera is the car that marks our progress, revealing just how far we’ve come,” said Rimac. “From garage to global; from worrying about keeping the lights on to a 2bn EUR valuation; from converted BMW 3 Series to the world’s fastest accelerating production car and from hypercar maker to Tier 1 EV tech supplier and energy storage pioneers. All achieved in a country where all of this would have sounded like science fiction at the time of founding the company.”

The first of the nine Rimac Nevera 15th Anniversary Editions will make its public debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. At last year’s festival, the Nevera broke the course production car record, posting at a time of 49.32 seconds.

This year once again, Rimac’s chief test and development driver, Miro Mrgud, will take the famous hill climb. However, as the Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition he’s set to drive has already sold, it’s likely the car will take the climb at a slightly more sedate pace. Let’s call it a victory lap.
