To celebrate its 25th year the ski-in ski-out resort Aman Le Mélézin in Courchevel 1850 is unveiling a luxurious new Alpine spa dedicated to re-balancing body and mind. As the resort reopens for the ski season on December 15, 2017, this new wellness space will provide guests with extensive facilities and treatments designed for rejuvenation after a day on the slopes.

Following two summer seasons of work, along with a complete renovation of the rooms and suites, the hotel now contains two floors of wellness space. Spanning more than 8,250 sq ft, this new spa features five spacious treatment rooms including two double suites and a signature Thai massage suite, with hot stone massages and Himalayan salt scrubs among the therapies the spa will specialize in.

The Aman Spa menu here has been curated with a focus on treatments offering nourishing heat and moisture to combat the effects of being out in the snow, with both pre-ski and post-ski treatments to choose from. The Mélézin Signature Spa Journey then provides complete indulgence with dry brushing to boost circulation, a tension releasing hot stone and oil massage and a calming facial designed to counter the Alpine elements.

The second floor of the spa will then comprise experiential showers  to stimulate the body’s circulation and oxygen intake, a cold plunge pool to relieve swelling and remove lactic acid after strenuous exercise, a relaxation lounge, a Capri-stone hammam and a wooden sauna, alongside a lap pool that’s flanked by Jacuzzis. A new yoga studio will lie adjacent to the spa, offering early morning pre-ski sessions and evening classes to release tension, as well as private sessions.

Complementing the arrival of the new spa, the hotel will also be launching Nama, a culinary concept inaugurated this year at Amanpuri in Thailand, celebrating finely crafted Japanese cuisine under the guidance of master chef Keiji Matoba. Following the Japanese tradition of washoku, a Unesco recognized dining concept translating to harmony in food, the restaurant will serve authentic Japanese dishes such as sushi, sashimi and wagyu beef, with warming ramen dishes to reflect Aman Le Mélézin’s snowy mountain setting.
