To mark its 21st year the five-star hotel Cape Grace has launched its own exclusive and limited edition range of fine jewelry ahead of its birthday celebrations in December. Designed in collaboration with Cape Town’s leading luxury jewelry brand Platandia, the new ’21 Years of Elegance’ collection pays homage to the hotel’s heritage and style.
The inspiration taken from the hotel’s identity is interpreted into distinctly South African creations, with the rare blue Tanzanite gemstone, which can only be found close to Kilimanjaro, incorporated into the exclusive jewelry collection. The design of each item is then inspired by the Cape’s flourishing flora, and in particular the blooming King Protea.
Among the items in this unique collection is the original Platandia nine-carat white gold king Protea flower with Tanzanite and diamond pendant ($1,888) and earrings ($1,602). Each item then comes with a personal consultation and a history of the gemstones’ origin.
Samantha Williams, the brand manager of Cape Grace, says: “We felt that Tanzanite blue was the perfect color to capture the heart of our birthday celebration. Not only is it December’s birthstone, it is also considered to be indicative of new life – a theme that is at the heart of turning 21. This gemstone is a celebration of Africa in all its elegance and epitomizes Cape Grace’s coming of age.”
