Located just four miles downriver from Dunton Hot Springs, the seasonal Cresto Ranch is the newest addition to this famed Colorado outpost.
Opening June 1, 2013, Cresto Ranch will be comprised of eight luxurious and spacious 640-square-foot canvas tents located in an alpine clearing in the Colorado Rockies. Each tent will feature a gas heating stove, spacious en-suite bathroom, and private lounging porch. At the heart of the intimate resort will be the main lodge – a restored 19th-century farmhouse – featuring a dining room, guest salon and wraparound deck, perched just 20 feet from the Dolores River, with spectacular views of the San Juan Mountains.
Guests of Cresto Ranch will have access to more than 1,600 acres of wilderness area in the San Juan Mountains, ideal for stargazing, exploring, picnicking, hiking, nature walks, and lawn games. With four of the tents overlooking the Dolores River and four with amazing mountain views, Cresto’s main activities will be fly fishing on a private, prime piece of the Dolores River and riding the local horses through nearby mountain valleys, meadows and trails.
Using local and regional ingredients, the chefs at Cresto Ranch will create a unique menu daily. Cresto guests will also have the opportunity to sample the wide array of wines from the award-wining Sutcliffe Vineyards, which are beautifully crafted just 30 miles away.
Cresto Ranch will be open from late spring to early fall (June 1st to October 31st); rates start at $1,400 per night (double occupancy) and include all meals and beverages.
