Executive Chef at The Connaught, Hélène Darroze has come a long way since she started working for the legendary Alain Ducasse back in the early nineties.
With restaurants in London, Paris and Moscow, multpiple Michelin stars and a recent admission into the French Legion of Honour, she says that – as a fourth generation chef – cooking is “in her blood”.
In the second of our series of interviews with female chefs, Darroze says that while mixing family life and children with her career can be difficult, cooking is her greatest passion.
And her advice to burgeoning female chefs? “Always to be a woman. Don’t try to be a man because you are a woman and be proud of that.”
