Experience America’s Cup at Hamilton Princess

By Olivia Cuccaro

The yachting event of the year heads to Bermuda this month to kick off the 35th America’s Cup competition. As the official sponsor of the race, Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach club is offering sailing enthusiasts an America’s Cup Match package to get in on the action.

Become the ultimate yachting fan with a four-night stay at the marina-front Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club and opportunity to watch the final races. The America’s Cup Match package includes two spectator boat passes for one (or two, with Premium) match on guests’ day of choice, June 17-18 and 24-25, as well as two tickets to the America’s Cup Village at the Royal Naval Dockyard between June 12 and June 27 where you just might get an autograph from one of the sailors. Those who reserve the America’s Cup Match Premium package will additionally receive two America’s Cup caps to sport and a bottle of champagne.

In celebration of the event, Hamilton Princess will also offer a variety of America’s Cup-themed activities and services to enjoy on the island. The hotel’s Beach Club, situated on the private cove of Sinky Bay, will lead America’s Cup-themed workouts for active guests to get in shape like a sailor. Unwind with a sports massage at the 5,400 sq ft Exhale Spa, or head to Chef Marcus Samuelsson’s namesake restaurant for yachting-inspired cocktails. Whether or not you’re already outfitted in Louis Vuitton’s America’s Cup collection, a local tattoo artist can monogram a pair of Sperry shoes for a complete sailor-chic look.

In June 2016, Hamilton Princess unveiled two new penthouse suites as part of the property’s two-year renovation. The suites feature a king-size bed, two closets, vanity, pantry kitchen, bathroom with soaking tub and shower, living room and powder room. View Hamilton Harbour from a wraparound balcony, then embark on a complimentary tour of Bermuda Great Sound aboard the hotel’s custom yacht, Lady Whytbank, where you’ll sip cocktails and swim beside the historic Vixen shipwreck.

Be sure to look out for the new Louis Vuitton trophy that will be presented to the winning team of the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup Challenger Playoffs, taking place from Sunday June 4 to June 12, 2017. Commissioned from goldsmith and silversmith Thomas Lyte, the new trophy is crafted in 22lb of sterling silver with a satin finish and housed in a handmade Louis Vuitton monogram trunk.
