More than 40 of the best international and Australian food and wine talent will come together tomorrow for the start of Margaret River Gourmet Escape, which promises to be a festival to remember.
Internationally acclaimed chefs Heston Blumenthal, Rick Stein, Alex Atala and Sat Bains are leading the star-studded line-up of culinary geniuses at the three-day event, which ends on Sunday.
Following on from its hugely successful inaugural year in 2012, Margaret River Gourmet Escape will host beach BBQs, long table lunches, culinary line-ups set in some of the region’s finest wineries, as well as various lunch and dinners made from local produce.
Blumenthal is set to be a guest at the stunning private Fraser Gallop Estate, where festival-goers will enjoy award-winning wines by the exclusive Fraser Gallop Winery and canapés by Hadleigh Troy of Perth’s acclaimed Restaurant Amuse.
On Saturday and Sunday, accomplished chef Rick Stein will host his private masterclasses at the Leeuwin Estate, during which he will show guests how to prepare and cook seafood.
Alex Atala will feature as part of three events over the weekend, including Gourmet Village on Saturday and The Forager with Al Brown on Sunday.
Other chefs joining the line-up include Mark Best, Sat Bains, Neil Perry and Matt Moran.
