Jewelry Trend: Coral

By Olivia Cuccaro

By Kristen Shirley

Coral jewelry is increasingly precious due to overfishing and the effects of climate change. Its sourcing and trade is highly regulated, and rightly so. From soft pinks to the highly sought-after deep reds, our pick of coral pieces from prestigious jewelry houses allows you to wear the stunning pieces without a weight on your conscience.

Bulgari Diva’s Dream High Jewelry earrings in 18K white gold with 21.01 carats coral and 4.70 carats diamonds, price on request, Anita Paredes, +1 800 285 4274, bulgari.com

To own a piece of jewelry history, look no further than Van Cleef & Arpels Heritage bracelet. Originally created in 1972, the house reacquired the coral bracelet and is once again available; it features 75 coral beads and 82 diamonds. Cartier’s Étourdissant bracelet captures the spirit of the Côte d’Azur, with waves of coral and diamonds set in rose gold. From its iconic high jewelry collection Diva’s Dream, Bulgari’s fan-shaped coral earrings are inspired by ancient Roman mosaics. While Vhernier might be best known for its architectural swirls, we love the Cardinale collection with square stones; the chain necklace has seven pieces of coral set in rose gold. Meanwhile Sutra’s ring features soft-pink cabochon- and marquise-cut coral surrounded by diamonds.
