Odyssey, an outdoor lounge designed by Karl Lagerfeld, opens today at Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo.
Lagerfeld created a 60-foot photographic installation for the space, composed of 18 backlit panels depicting the journey of Ulysseys. He styled models as modern-day muses in custom-designed togas, then superimposed those images onto his own private collection of vintage photographs of the Greek coast from the 19th Century.
The 30-seat space opens today, and is exclusive to hotel guests and Métropole ESPA Monte-Carlo members from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. daily.
On June 1, 2013, Odyssey will debut evening hours open to locals as well as hotel guests. After 6:00 p.m., it will become a destination cocktail bar serving light fare by Michelin’s multi-starred chef Joël Robuchon. His small plates will be accompanied by live music and a resident deejay.
