Together with wife Annette and the Rainieri family, Oscar de la Renta developed Tortuga Bay at Puntacana Resort & Club as an elegant Caribbean property with elements of his Dominican heritage throughout. For the recent renovation, renowned designer Markham Roberts upheld the concept originally imagined by de la Renta to refresh the boutique hotel for the modern elite traveler.
Arrive at the Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) and be whisked through customs to a private car by Tortuga Bay’s VIP service. A short drive through lush Dominican landscape brings you to a personal concierge on site to check you in and hand over the keys to your own golf cart for resort transportation. Set in a 1,500-acre ecological reserve with miles of private white-sand beachfront, Tortuga Bay is a secluded enclave of the Puntacana Resort & Club with just 13 villas, epitomizing tropical luxury.
The Tortuga Bay Villas are set to undergo a transformation to white walls, white wood shutters and Oscar de la Renta Home fabrics (which will feature throughout the resort along with new custom furniture). For your stay, the most opulent accommodation is the Four-Bedroom Villa, comprising one king-size and two full-size beds downtsairs as well as two king-size bedrooms accessible via an exterior staircase.
As the renovation continues, guests of Tortuga Bay will see a redesign of the award-winning Bamboo Restaurant, with revamped outdoor space for a more lavish alfresco dining experience. The pool bar will add an outdoor lounge with sitting area and new bars both inside and out, as well a new humidor, wine cellar and pavilion. Additionally, the reception room will be expanded to create a more welcoming environment for guests.
