US fans of Swiss watchmaker Richard Mille can now rejoice as the brand has officially opened the doors to its flagship boutique in New York City. The 4,200-square-foot space is Richard Mille’s largest boutique to date, and is something that took over ten years to find, according to Richard Mille.
As he knows, good things take time. So when a spot on East 57th Street, particularly on a stretch known as ‘Billionaire’s Row’ — became available, it provided the perfect opportunity for the brand to plant stronger roots on US soil. The flagship makes quite the impression — LED lights illuminate the 30-ft windows allowing onlookers to peer into the two-story flagship. You can’t miss the giant Richard Mille sculpture made of glass (weighing 37,000 pounds) carved in the shape of its RM 008 Tourbillon.
A custom, transparent elevator reminiscent of a floating capsule is in the middle of the store — the cab and shaft are fully transparent so you can awe at the machine’s work. Like its technical watches, the store is an interpretation of the meticulousness that goes into each timepiece. Upstairs you’ll find a bar, VIP consultation area, ladies’ and automatic watches and a comfortable lounge that overlooks the energetic 57th Street.
The store will hold almost all of Richard Mille’s collections, displayed to show the history of the company and how the company has grown into what it is today.
