Ritz-Carlton Introduces Posh Picnic Package in New York

In the summertime, there’s nothing as quintessentially New York as a picnic in Central Park. But when The Ritz-Carlton is behind your outdoor excursion, you can ditch the checkered blanket in favor of a far more luxurious afternoon. Having previously offered an annual Picnic in the Park package, Ritz-Carlton has elevated the experience this year with the Posh Picnic.

Take a break from skyscrapers and taxis and escape to the city’s most famous green space for a five-course meal under the trees. Designed for two, Ritz-Carlton’s Posh Picnic package features a menu of fresh, local fare curated by Executive Chef Joseph Lallave. A far cry from sandwiches in a straw basket, the indulgent picnic includes Ossetra caviar as well as dishes like a mezze tray, cheese and charcuterie, Greek quinoa salad and lobster roll on a toasted brioche roll. For dessert, Pastry Chef Anthony D’Adamo has created New York-inspired treats such as strawberry crumble bars to savor as you peruse a complimentary map of Central Park.

While snacking on caviar certainly sets this package apart from the traditional picnic, guests will also receive a tote bag, waterproof fleece blanket, Ritz-Carlton kite and frisbee to complete the experience. The concierge will even provide tips on the perfect Central Park picnic to ensure your afternoon is one of remember.

Guests who book the Posh Picnic package can keep the beautiful park in sight even after the picnic has ended with accommodations in a Deluxe Park View Suite. Overlooking Central Park, the 850 sq ft suites comprise a king-size bed, two marble bathrooms with bathtub and separate shower, and living room. Picnic goers will be welcomed with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries before heading to the park, La Prairie Spa or Star Lounge.
