Shangri-La Bosphorus will open May 11 in a historic building on the European side of the city.
The hotel has 186 rooms and suites, most of which overlook the Bosphorus, and all of which have bathrooms made from Turkish tile and stocked with Bvlgari products.
The 17 suites have private terraces facing the river. The top suite, simply called the Shangri-La Suite, has three terraces overlooking Istanbul’s old city, the Anatolia Asian shore and the Bosphorus Bridge.
There are over 1,000 works by international artists displayed throughout the hotel, which also has two restaurants and CHI, a spa specializing in Turkish and Chinese treatments.
Rates at the Shangri-La Bosphorus start at €550.
This will be the second Shangri-La in Europe. The Shangri-La Paris, home to one of Elite Traveler‘s Top 101 Suites in the World, opened in 2010.
