The $1 Million Coat: Fendi Haute Fourrure Show

The Theatre des Champs-Elysees played host to Karl Lagerfeld’s first ever “Haute Fourrure” collection for Fendi last week, where guests admired a collection of 30 looks made out of fur. One particular coat was valued by The Financial Times at $1 Million.

The most talked about piece in the Fendi fur collection is made from sable, a valuable type of fur. Each follicle has been coated in pure silver providing a shimmering, luminous effect all while maintaining its softness.

Fendi has long been acquainted with fur, but the first ever Haute Fourrure show also coincided with the Italian fashion house’s 50^th birthday. The collection showcased looks made from mink, chinchilla and sable.
