Returning to London from the 25 to 26 October, the Bettane + Desseauve Wine Experience will host a series of new wine related events in London’s Saatchi Gallery, including an auction, tastings and competitions.
The Wine Experience, in partnership with leading wine publication The World of Fine Wine, will see some of Europe’s most esteemed vintners congregate to present their finest produce to both wine industry types and wine lovers alike.
Presented by Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve – two highly influential and respected wine writers – the Wine Experience event will see the two, along with various other leading experts in the field, lead notable tasting master-classes.
In addition to the tastings, there will be three interesting new events, including the ‘Wine Premier’ award for 12 different wines and inventive wine-related projects from around the world.
Also set to take place is ‘Chardonnay Masters’, sponsored by British trade publication The Drinks Business, to celebrate this special grape.
The auction is however perhaps the biggest of the three, put on by the wine world’s leading children’s charity, The Grape Foundation.
Working hard to raise money for disadvantaged children in all corners of the winemaking world, The Grape Foundation have accumulated an impressive collection of rare and fine wines, many of which are offered in large format and signed by the winemakers.
Lots include donations from Krug, Chateau d’Yquem and Quinta do Noval; magnums of La Fleur-Petrus and Penfolds Grange; and double magnums of Lynch-Bages, Gianfranco Soldera’s Case Basse Brunello, Veuve Clicquot and Ridge’s Monte Bello, to name but a few. A worthy cause with a delicious concept, pull out your wallets and get generous.
