Revealed at EBACE 2023, the Cessna Citation Ascend is the fifth generation of the popular Citation 560XL model and is due for delivery in 2025.
Listed at $16.725m, the Citation Ascend has been designed to take the midsized business jet into the future with state-of-the-art efficiency and an improved interior from its predecessor, the XLS Gen2.
The interior has been reimagined with a flat floor and bigger windows, all while staying in the same 560XL airframe. The flat floor improves legroom and makes it easier to maneuver the chairs. The windows are 15% bigger than on the Gen2, and come with wireless shade control and an illuminated window ring.
The jet has nine seats on standard configuration but can take a maximum of 12 passengers. It has a maximum range of 2,100 nm and a four-passenger range of 1,900 nm. That will maintain the jet's position as the go-to for short business trips and day-trippers.
This is also the first jet to contain Textron Aviation's redesigned high-tech seat, said to be the most comfortable the company has ever built. Seats can swivel at the touch of an electronic button, a feature implemented from customer feedback.
There are also more USB-C ports, with each seat having at least one, and two universal charging points within the cabin.
Customers will have Gogo US Avance L3 Max wi-fi as standard but can upgrade to L5 and Aviaiator 300 if desired.
