Three days 10-12 June of less than sparkling weather failed to dampen enthusiasm for the 2nd edition of the Ferretti Group Open Days 2016, held at Ferretti Group Asia Pacific’s service facility in Aberdeen, Hong Kong.
“Yes, we have had a lot of rain,” said Alessandro Tirelli, Sales Director, Ferretti Group Asia Pacific. “But the weather didn’t put off the really interested clients – they still came to see us! So in a way it’s not such a bad thing – in this business quality counts for more than quantity, and the FG Open Days is intended to be a personal and invitation-only event. So really we are very happy with the weekend, and never mind the rain!”
“Boat shows are still an important part of our marketing strategy,” notes Karin Paggi, Head of Sales & Marketing, Custom Line, “but boat shows are about numbers and footfall. Open Days give us the chance to introduce new clients to our boats, personally, and take them out for sea trials, which makes everything come alive. That’s not usually an option at boat shows.”
On display over the three days were the flagship of Ferretti’s ‘Tai He Ban’ collection, the Ferretti Yachts 960 with its immensely tasteful decor and an all-new interior layout that makes the boat more of a ‘meetings’ or ‘party’ platform than an overnighter. It’s different, and it’s elegant. The Ferretti Yachts 870 ‘Tai He Ban’ is dedicated to social occasions, with an increased entertainment and dining area on the main deck.
The only way to properly experience a yacht is to get away from the dock and feel it move under your feet. The Ferretti Yachts 700 was available for sea trials, and gave the Open Days guests a chance to do just that. This was the Asian première for the FY 700 ‘Tai He Ban’.
In the end, it’s all about people. Talking to people, explaining, and answering questions. The full Ferretti Group team was on hand during the FG Open Days, including CEO Alberto Galassi. “Our Open Days are so important. This is when we really have the time and opportunity to introduce our yachts to our potential clients. We value them deeply.”
The FG Open Days also hosted a breakfast visit from the Sunday Morning Drive group. “We didn’t know you could fit so many Ferraris and Lamborghinis into our Service Yard!” said FG Asia Pacific Sales Manager Fabiomassimo Discoli. “It’s great to be able to bring together luxury car lovers and luxury boat enthusiasts – they are perfectly complimentary.”
Undoubtedly the Ferretti Group Open Days were a great success, despite the rain, and for sure clients will have another exclusive event to look forward to in the near future.
