Hong Kong And Miami – Reported by Elite Traveler, the Private Jet Lifestyle Magazine
Firestone Management Group, a boutique private jet advisory practice which focuses on assisting multinational private jet organizations interested in penetrating the emerging markets of Asia-Pacific, releases a current update on the private jet landscape within Mainland China including the Special Administrative Regions (SAR) of Hong Kong and Macau. This is the first of what will become a bi-annual release from the Firestone Management Group.
“Never before has actual data been released beyond rough estimates. The global private jet community now has a current snapshot of the total number of private jets actually registered in Greater China today,” says Justin Lee Firestone, Managing Director of Firestone Management Group. “This is significant because it allows our industry an opportunity to conduct targeted analysis of the constantly changing dynamics and competitive landscape of the emerging market of Greater China.”
As of Jan. 15, 2011 there are currently a combined total of 116 private jets registered in China, including Hong Kong and Macau.
−Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation leads the industry with 43 aircraft registered representing 37 percent of the entire installed base.
−Cessna Aircraft Company follows with 24 aircraft currently registered in the country, representing 21 percent of the installed base.
−Bombardier closely follows Cessna with 21 aircraft representing 18 percent of the installed base.
−Hawker Beechcraft has 18 aircraft representing 15 percent of the total installed base of private jets.
−Dassault Falcon Jet, Airbus and Boeing have yet to reach double digits with 6, 3 and 1 aircraft respectively.

Of the combined total of 116 aircraft, there are 86 aircraft that were manufactured less than 10 years ago, representing nearly 75 percent of the current installed base of aircraft currently registered in China, including Hong Kong and Macau. These figures do not include private jets currently operating on foreign aircraft registrations within China, Hong Kong and Macau.
