My Yacht Club Opens Doors for Formula 1 US Grand Prix

By Chris Boyle

As the international racing community prepares for the return of the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend in Austin, Texas, November 15 to 17, enthusiasts are also anticipating the reappearance of My Yacht Group’s sophisticated nightlife club.

The club is an elite ‘three night only’ Monaco-style venue  transformed within the Ballet Austin complex and best known for its exclusive pre and post-race experience.

Complete with 24-karat gold-flecked champagne, the chic club-like atmosphere continues to attract celebrities, luxury sponsors, high-end hospitality and – since its Austin debut in 2012 – remains the after hours highlight of the F1 weekend.

Last year’s party hosted guests such as Friends star Matt LeBlanc and Nicole Taylor of Entourage, plus John Paul DeJoria, co-founder of Paul Mitchell Systems and Patrón Spirits and Oscar nominated Brian Oliver, producer of Ron Howard’s F1 film, Rush.

Drivers in attendance included Torro Rosso’s Jean Eric-Vergne, Caterham’s Vitaly Petrov, Sauber F1’s Kamui Kobayashi, U.S. F1 driver Alexander Rossi and professional rally driver Ken Block, among others. Visiting royalty, including the Crown Princes of Bahrain and of Saudi Arabia, also enjoyed My Yacht Club.

My Yacht Group CEO and three-time Olympian Nicholas Frankl has been involved with the F1 industry for more than 20 years, with his company bringing the first Monaco-styled glamour event to Austin in 2012.

“Last year’s party was a resounding success, “Frankl said. “And we expect this year’s event to be bigger, more star-studded and even more luxurious.”

The whole weekend is produced by My Yacht Group to benefit the non-profit Ballet Austin, both financially and promotionally.

For three nights, Ballet Austin is transformed into My Yacht Club featuring two custom rooms – the Patrón Grand Prix Lounge and the Monaco Dance Room.

The dance room comes complete with VIP tables, bottle service, international DJ, Comte de Mazeray’s Golden Girls, go-go dancers, and the occasional pyrotechnics.

Tables are available at four different levels ranging in price from $4,500 to a new V16 Table at $50,000. There are also individual VIP tickets for $300.

For the ultimate red carpet experience, My Yacht Group has introduced a Methusalem V16 Ultimate Table for up to 20 guests in a private section including security, Golden Girls, plus two hand-engraved six-liter commemorative Comte de Mazeray bottles.

Only ten of these exclusive, numbered Methusalems will be produced. Table number one will be awarded to the winning driver of the US Grand Prix. Attendance is limited to 500 every evening.
