The British Virgin Islands are coming to the Annapolis Sail Boat Show from October 8 – 12th, with a unique opportunity for travelers who hunger for the delights of the best the Caribbean has to offer: A Taste of the BVI. That’s the name of a multi-layered promotion which brings four of the region’s top chefs to Annapolis to prepare their signature island cuisine at Annapolis Restaurants. Quito Rymer and the Edge, one of the BVI’s most popular bands, will be bringing their own flavor of the Caribbean to the Boat Show crowd as well, with music everyday from the Marriott’s Rooftop Deck.
“This marks the 18th year in which the British Virgin Islands is participating in the annual Annapolis Sailboat Show,” commented Ms. Hadassah Ward, Acting Director of the BVI Tourist Board. “Our focus is to make sure that visitors have the opportunity to fully experience all of the Islands’ assets from our food, to our music, to the perfect sailing conditions our beautiful blue waters and constant trade winds provide,” she added. As in past years, the BVI will have a well-outfitted exhibitor booth at the Boat Show to help provide potential visitors information about the Islands’ reputation for having the best sailing conditions in the world.
Signature menus from four of the region’s top chefs will be available at participating restaurants from October 8 – 12th. The restaurants include: the Boat Yard Bar and Grill, Harry Brownes, Federal House, and Pusser’s. Each chef will prepare a drink, appetizer, entrée, and dessert to offer as a special at his respective host restaurant.
In addition to tasting the unique cuisine of the Islands and each chef’s signature dish, guests at participating restaurants will have the opportunity to enter to win two round trip tickets to the beautiful British Virgin Islands compliments of the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board and a four night vacation to the BVI’s popular Bitter End Yacht Club located on the exotic island of Virgin Gorda.
